Piana del Ponte is the only hut in Biella’s Alps to be located on a valley floor, the one shaped by Sessera stream.

It forms part of Oasi Zegna, an area now officially recognised as naturalistic oasis, built by entrepreneur Ermenegildo Zegna in the 30s, thanks to his foresight and love for this territory. Besides the typical bridge, the area shows clearly the past mineral activity with the ruins of a blast furnace and, more upstream, the units for extracting silver.
Every access is downhill, the more direct goes down from Bocchetto Sessera along the panoramic road of Zegna, trail sign F8. It it possible to access by car by an unpaved road up to Casa del Pescatore, then you have to continue by foot following path number F10.
